Whitley
Therapy Dog
Hello there!
My name is Whitley, and I’m a therapy dog here at Collective Insight. I’m a red merle Australian Shepherd with heterochromia. I turned 5 in April 2024 and love my job! I’m almost always snuggling next to mom (Dr. Mailho) during telehealth sessions, and sometimes I’ll make camera appearances.
Like many people who come to therapy, I have experienced anxiety since I was a puppy. I feel the safest with familiar people and in my comfortable spaces, like home. The outside world can be unpredictable and full of surprises, and I’m constantly vigilant to changes! My mom and I continue to work together – just like in therapy – to help manage my fears, while still living a full life.
I’m continuing my training as a therapy dog, and I’ve undergone extensive training to provide comfort, support, and companionship to those in need. I’m a well-behaved and obedient dog, and I’m trained to follow commands and respond to cues from my handler. I’m also up-to-date on all my vaccinations and receive regular health check-ups to ensure that I’m always in the best condition to serve as a therapy dog.
When I’m not working, I enjoy going to the dog beach, learning new words and tricks, and going on adventures with my family.
I can’t wait to meet you and share my unconditional love and support with you during your therapy sessions!
